I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in private practice and board approved clinical supervisor. My Masters in Social Work is from the University of Texas at Austin and I completed a certificate in Advanced Clinical Practice from New York University. I also am an lecturer in the clinical graduate program at the University of Texas School of Social Work.
Over the course of my career, I have worked with individuals and families along the entire spectrum of mental health. Through positions at Shoal Creek Hospital, Austin State Hospital, SafePlace and New York’s Urban Pathways, I have previously provided services to adults impacted by mental illness and mood disorders, trauma and family violence, substance abuse, homelessness and other complex personal issues.
Now, in my private practice, I provide psychotherapy to adults, couples and families. Working closely with my clients, I help them create and achieve personal goals, work through difficult feelings and experiences, gain insight and self-awareness, and bring mindfulness and balance to their lives.
In addition to psychotherapy services, I also provide clinical supervision for social workers working toward LCSW licensure and consultation for licensed clinicians. Since 2000, I have been a clinical supervisor for MSW interns at University of Texas, Columbia University and NYU and to free-range social workers seeking clinical licensure. I have also worked closely with other professionals providing clinical consultation in individual, group, and agency settings.
I stay involved with several professional organizations including Austin In Connection, The Austin Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology, and the National Association of Social Workers.
